In this post, we will see how to do word frequency analysis online in a text. Here is a free website called WriteWords to count word frequency in a text. It lets you know that how many times a particular word is used in an entire text. It counts every word of your text and displays the number of repetition. You just have to paste or type your text in the input field of this website. Then it will process your text and give you the word frequency of each word in a descending order of frequency. Similarly, you can also count the number of phrases used in your text. Unlike other websites which let you count words and characters, this one lets you find out the word and phrase frequency in your text.

How To Count Word Frequency In A Text Using WriteWords?

WriteWords lets you know the frequency of each word in a text with few simple steps. Below screenshot shows the main page of this website with the input field. Above the input field, there will be a small instruction about how to count word frequency in your text.

You can either type or paste your text in the input field. Once, you are done with typing or pasting the text, simply hit the “Submit” button. It will automatically process your text and provide you the word frequency of each word, as displayed below.

The word frequency of each word is listed in a descending order of frequency. For example, as you can see in the below image the word “the” is at the top of the list. This is because the word has the maximum frequency in the text.

If you want to count the word frequency of another text, then simply clear the input field or use the “Count new text” button.

This Website lets you count word frequency but it ignores the numbers and characters like #, %, &, etc., used in the text. It considers these characters and numbers as space. If a word contains a number or any of these characters, then it will consider it as space and split the word. As displayed in the below image, “Don” and “t” of “Don’t” are counted as two separate words because of apostrophe sign (‘).

Phrase Frequency Counter

It also has an option to count the frequency of phrases used in your text called Phrase Frequency Counter.Using this option you can find out the exact number of phrases used in your text.

You will also see an option named, “Select number of words in a phrase to check” above the input field. It lets you select the number of words in a phrase to check for repetition. As you can see in the above image, the number of words is set to 2, then it displays the frequency of phrase having two words. Similarly, you can set this option from 2 to 10. If any text doesn’t contain the phrase of the selected number of words then it simply displays the message “No repeating phrases found”.
