But, the second method is applicable to every version of Windows to see hidden files and folders. And if you want to see file extensions as well, then you can do that in a similar way.

So let’s get started with the first method to see hidden files and folders in Windows 10. For this, open the folder in which you want to see the hidden files and folders. After that, from the ribbon above, go to the “View” tab. Here you can check the “Hidden Items” option to reveal all hidden files and folders in the current directory. By checking the option will hide the folders and files again.

Now, we will see the second method to show hidden folders and files in Windows 10. This method is quite traditional and it works on every version of Windows ever released.

Go to the Control Panel, and open “File Explorer Option”. After that click on the View tab and then you will see two different options to show or hide hidden files. You can select any option from there according to your needs.

Note: If you are using an older version of Windows, then in Control Panel there may be a different name for File Explorer Options. In XP and Windows Vista, it is known as “Folder Options” too.
