Recently, they have rolled out another interesting feature called “IGTV”. So, what is this feature? Well, this Instagram feature can actually help you watch videos from users you already follow on Instagram and also find new videos and users whom you will love. You can even create a channel of your own to share longer videos.
For this feature, they have added a new TV button near the Direct Message button at the top of the Instagram homefeed. You can press that button to see only videos from the users you follow and other trending and popular videos from creators all over the world. Now, let me tell you in brief, how to use this feature on your phone.
How to Use the Instagram IGTV Feature?
To use this feature, first of all, open the Instagram app on your phone. When you are on the homefeed tab, you will be able to see a TV button at the top. This button is the IGTV button.
Now, press that button and it will tell you what this feature does in a small dialog. After that, tap the “Watch Now” option on the dialog.
When you have done that, you will be able to see all the Instagram videos from the users you follow below the For You and Following categories.
You can also see two other categories named “Popular” and “Continue Watching”. In the Popular category, you can see trending videos from Instagram posted by people all over the world. And in the Continue Watching category, you will find those videos which you haven’t watched completely and left while watching them.
On the video screen, you can also see a Search bar that can help you find videos quickly. There you will also be able to see a Gear icon which can let you create a channel to share longer videos. Tap on the icon and select Create Channel. Then it will automatically create a channel. To share longer videos, press your channel icon. After that, you can choose the Upload Videos option or press the “+” icon to select any video from your phone. Please remember, the IGTV supports only the full-screen vertical videos and also in between 15 seconds to 15 minutes in length.
When you select a video, it lets you add a video title, description, and change video cover. You can also activate the “Facebook Page” button and choose any of your Facebook pages to automatically post the video. Then press the Post button to submit your video on IGTV. Now, people who follow you can see the video on IGTV.
