How To Find Case-Sensitive Words In Browsers

In this post, we will talk about a free little bookmarklet called Case Sensitive Find to find case-sensitive words. Actually, it works as browser’s extension. It lets you find the specific word in upper case and lower case separately. You can find such words simply by adding this bookmarklet to the bookmark bar in your browsers.

There is another website called WriteWords to find out the number of words and characters in a selected block of text on any web page. And, software ConstEdit finds the matching words in a text and then replaces them together with the newly defined words.

How To Find Case Sensitive Words?

Case Sensitive Find is a browser extension that lets you find words according to upper case and lower case. You can simply add this bookmarklet to the browser by dragging the extension link to bookmarklet bar. After plugins, you can search any words with a single click. Open this bookmark and type the word on any web page to find a specific word. Then it will highlight that words in yellow color wherever used on the page. As it is case sensitive so it highlights the words with the similar case. As in the below screenshot, it highlights only “The” and ignores “the” words.

How is this Bookmarklet Different from Ctrl+F?

The “Case Sensitive Find” extension can able to differentiate between upper and lower case words. For example, it gives different results for words “you, You, and YOU” in the same paragraph. In the below screenshot, you can see the result that search by “you” word gives 4 results while “You” gives only 1 result.

And, for “YOU” it finds nothing as shown in the below screen image.

But the hotkey “ctrl+F” cannot find such differences among words. As in the below screenshot, you see that it gives same results for “you, You, and YOU.

Conclusion:

The browser extension which can find the case sensitive words is basically useful in finding the exact case match words. It lets you find the confusing words of same alphabetical order but will differ in the case and hence meaning like RAM and Ram. So this bookmark is very useful in finding such confusing words.
